Video playback pausing audio continuing

Hi,

I have recently had an issue where premiere just refuses to play clips that aren't rendered (appearing yellow on timeline). It will play through some clips without an issue then the video will pause and the audio will continue going. It seems to only do it on some files. It can be completely fine then once it starts doing this, it will continue like this even if I restart the computer. This makes it absolutely impossible for me to edit a video with over 100 source clips as I would have to import every clip and render it just to be able to watch them.

I have gone through and updated everything, cleared cache, tried all other troubleshooting tips such as audio, moving files, lowing quality (even upgraded graphics card).

Desktop Pc

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X

64GB DDR4

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

(issue is consistent wether files are on startup disk or hard drive)

Video files in question are mainly filmed on Sony A1 in SLog3 if that helps.

thanks in advance!

Update: I think it is only the A1 clips that are causing the issue (at least tonight). The clips are a mix of A1 and A7iii 4k both filmed in slog 3. Maybe the A1 is causing issues.
