Videos getting automatically cropped, not a sequence setting issue!

My videos are automatically cropped when importing into premiere. Even when they're just in the project panel, before I put them on the timeline. I seen many forums about sequence settings etc.

And this is what it will look like when imported into premiere:

When I right click -> new sequence from clip the result is the same.

I have resolved this issue before but I can't remember how I did it, something with changing the file type. 

Is there an easy way to change the file type of multiple files.

you're saying if you import the file into premiere and then double click on it to loud in the source monitor it get's cropped?  tell us your sequence properties, in particular the pixel dimensions...  media info is a useful utility to get this info
