We all know the Project Manager is no good, so....

please describe your workaround.

We are a small compagny, but nervertheless we do bring  10 terra per year of shooting home.

Liek every very year it's always the same problem. I  start of the year like, "yeah we need some new space, let's consolidate"

But...no

we all know it's a mess, PM is not even close to work all right.

please friends, how do you manage to consolidate without spending a day per project ?

Sequences with alpha, with dynamik links to AE, with AI, animations, nested sequences, MP4, Pro Ress LT or 422, more than 2 sound channel...

Working on a external NAS Synology with SSD for production and HDD for archives.

every help is helpfull.

If Plumepack is the solution than ok.

Best Community so.

@Jarle Leirpoll @PaulMurphy @Richard M Knight @Warren Heaton

One of these ... and several others actually! ... might be better at advising on this.

Plumepack is the solution.

Otherwise, I would suggest archiving every edit with a textless multi-channel version to make it easy to restore but without taking up a lot of storage.

@laclaqueproduction,

As@PaulMurphy recommends, Plumepack, and don't look back!

PlumePack had a major update November 2025. See their page here for the changes:

https://www.autokroma.com/blog/PlumePack-V3-New-Licenses-And-Upgrades

A post in December expressed concern about the free version's project size limits and suffix for processed files:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/premiere-s-project-manager-is-basically-unus...

I did not post in that thread, but I did a test. In the free version, PlumePack now adds a suffix to the end of source filenames "_PlumePack_FREE". It looks messy, but it works. It does make the free version less friendly. The project size (60GB project, trims and transcodes; 500 GB per month), is reasonable. There is a huge new benefit: the free version now adds trims and transcodes.

See their page for price comparisons; $79 to remove the suffix and enable a lot of additional functionality is very reasonable:

https://www.autokroma.com/PlumePack.

Thanx for the advices, It's what I thought. Too bad that the pm from Premiere is not ready. To archive is the final process of every project, which at first seems maybe less important, but truely is not!

Greetz you people
