weirdness with mxf file

I don't think this is a Premiere issue, but I'm posting so that either someone can explain what's going on, or my workaround might help someone in the same situation.   I'm editing a 2 camera shoot where the camera original is mxf.   On one file, I realized one of the audio tracks was silent about half way thru.  I didn't think much of it but when I reviewed the latest sequence the audio for a  short section was total wrong.    And when I looked at earlier versions (I duplicate my sequence everyday when I start working) they were also wrong.  Thinking somehow or other there was a problem with this file.   I transcoded the problem file to proreshq and unlinked and relinked to the proreshq version and everything's back to normal...  (at least for the moment).  Mxf files have always seemed somewhat problematic in premiere, but never seen this weirdness...

Hi mgrenadier,

We're sorry about the poor experience. Have you tried importing the mxf file using Media Browser & checked if it's working properly? Also, let us know the source of the mxf file & if possible please share a download link for the sample media to diagnose the issue at our end.

Thanks,

Sumeet

thanks Sumeet.  I've moved on having transcoded the file as I described in the original post.  Since this was the only file in the project with any issues, I'm pretty sure there was something corrupt in the file.  But I greatly appreciate the fact that Adobe employees monitor this forum.  In this case, I don't think it's worth your time (or mine) to dig any further.
