Hello, and welcome to the December release of Premiere Pro! Premiere Pro 23.1 is now available from the Creative Cloud desktop app. The new features include the following:

Editing and Workflow

The newly updated version of Premiere Pro presents enhanced creative and organization features to help you work faster and more efficiently throughout the application.

From collaborative editing improvements in Team Projects to improving masking behaviors, the latest version is faster, more fluid, and customizable, enhancing collaboration from pre- to post-production. Let's take a closer look at those new features.

Upgrade Captions to Graphics

Elevate your on-screen text by converting captions to graphics for greater creative control. Create stylized, animated graphics from captions with Speech to Text in Premiere Pro. This was a big feature request on forums from users like you.

Premiere Pro offers many tools for formatting and stylizing captions. For even more creative options, you can now convert captions into graphics. Once done, you can apply effects and transitions to animate the words on the screen. Use keyframing to adjust the timing of effects or transitions for precise control of the results.

Upgraded captions can still be edited as text, directly in the Program Monitor or in the Text panel.

You can export the result, including all of the graphics.

Tip: If the function is disabled, ensure that the caption is selected in the Timeline before going to the Graphics and Titles menu.

Collaborative Editing with Premiere Pro

Add collaborators right from the header bar in Premiere Pro. See who’s currently working on a Team Project right now. Premiere Pro makes it easy to track and manage remote editing workflows.

Sequence Locking

Premiere Pro shows you when someone is working on a sequence and automatically locks it to avoid conflicts or duplications. This makes it easy to hand off edits between collaborators.

Easily Share Changes with Collaborators

When ready, use the Publish button to share your edits with your collaborators. The new Changes column in Premiere Pro shows when a sequence has been edited so collaborators can update it.

Improved Masking Tools

Easily mask objects by adding multiple points on a path without rotation and scale options getting in the way. Zoom in and out in the Program Monitor with 800% and 1600% zoom level options.

Select Toggle Switches on Multiple Tracks

Simplify track targeting by selecting multiple tracks while holding Ctrl (Windows) or Command (macOS) to enable, disable, or reverse the state of any track header switches, such as visibility and locks.

Drag up or downward to select and target multiple tracksUse track targeting in Premiere Pro to copy items between tracks, match framing, or navigate quickly between tracks. With new options for track targeting, working in the Timeline panel is even faster and more efficient.

Choose multiple tracks to enable, disable, or reverse the state of any track header switches, such as visibility and locks.

Supports import of RED V-Raptor XL footage with improved Metal GPU deBayering on Apple Silicon machines and OpenCL on Windows.

Premiere Pro Beta

There is an amazing new feature contained in Premiere Pro Beta. It's called "Assemble Rough-cuts from Transcripts": You can now create rough-cut edits from selected text passages with options to generate transcripts on import or from the Text panel.
