Hi, this is my first time posting here but at my limit. This problem has been happening the last 2 weeks and I can't figure out how to fix it.
So I start a new project and import my footage then drag it into the sequence. I tend not to render my footage until I'm completely done editing, and instead, I watch the raw footage. The audio mutes while watching after 20 seconds, and a few seconds later the footage freezes. Mind you the timestamp counter is still going and after 2 minutes the footage may continue but it'll be choppy at best.
I've tried deleting my media cache, upgrading my drives, and even had an Adobe help center person try to solve the issue. Unfortunately, nothing has stuck and it's making editing impossible. Has anyone else experienced this and know how to fix it?
Hi @christophere93399089 - Can you copy your media file to your internal drive and then let us know if you are still having an issue.
Do you have any third party plugins or panels installed?
Do you have sony catalyst or Catalyst prepare installed?

What GPU driver version are you using? Adobe recommends the studio driver when working in Premiere Pro.
Do you have any third party plugins or panels installed?
Have you tried navigating to your preferences under Audio Hardware and set your Input to "No Input"?
What type of footage are you working with?
Sorry fo

You need to provide more info? Perhaps your hardware has met it match with your clips. We need info on both.

Not sure if you need more:
Windows 10
CPU :AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.59 GHz
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 Ti
Ram: 32 gb
ssd 1.8 TB
When I got help from the Adobe help center I gave them my specs and they didn't say anything. I don't think my hardware is the issue.
The footage I'm using isn't anything crazy either. Just your standard 1080p footage with the same camera I've been using for years. Everything was working up to 2 weeks ago.
Let me know if you need more info.

Take a look at the link: Info needed for a bug report
We don't know anything about your footage. Phone, camera, screen video, etc.
You can use the free MediaInfo program to get info on your clips. Get the program from the link below and using the 'Tree' view post a screenshot of your clip info: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

I did what you said and copied my media file to my internal hard drive, and it fixed the issue!!! I've been putting my media on an external hard drive and editing from there to save space, but after a few tests, it might be time to get a new one. Thank you so much for your help!!!!
