Whenever I open a tab (E.g. Edit -> Prefrences -> Device control) It will stop responding

Whenever I open a 'tab' like this it will crash, And I can't click on the file button at all, All fixes i've seen have required me to go into a tab to fix, Please help and sorry if I haven't used the correct terms.

Also try resetting the workspace you are in.

Have you tried using the keyboard instead of the mouse - shortcuts or arrows? E.g. on windows, Alt-E -> N -> G should open the Preferences in the General tab.

Do you get a Crash error dialogue?

I just tried it with that, same result. If it helps i've attached the crash error message.

Reinstall hasent changed anything, I even made a new project 😞
