Hi everyone,

I’d like some advice on which version of Premiere Pro I should install.

My main goal is to edit YouTube Shorts and have Premiere Pro run smoothly, without lag, freezing, errors, or crashes.

My laptop specifications:
- OS: Windows 10 (22H2)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U
- GPU: Radeon Vega 8 (integrated)
- RAM: 12 GB

I’m not looking for the latest version. Stability and smooth performance are more important to me than new features.

Which Premiere Pro version would you recommend for my system?

Thanks in advance.

Here are Adobe's tech requirements for Premiere. It looks to me that you're on the edge of the requirements. Your ram and GPU could be pretty limiting— I'd give the 7 day trial a spin to see if performance is okay for you. I'm afraid you don't have much choice of versions, because Adobe only allows you to step back one version from the current one.

As Rag and Bone stated, your laptop is limiting. Integrated AMD iGPUs have always performed extremely badly in Premiere Pro regardless of the version of the software that you're using. And you currently cannot download or install a version that's older than 24.0.
