Why are there 2 dB scales on the soundtracks?

Hello !

Since version V25.0 of PREMIERE PRO, in the audio menu, there are 2 scales of dB values. Please explain to me the function of each of them. I am lost! I do not know which scale to use to set my level of -18dB.
Thanks in advance

The left side is similar to using an old style analogue control, which went to about +15. The right side is a modern digital scale control set, where 0dB is the absolute max, and clipping occurs on all data above 0.

So ... that's why there are those two scales. The left one is a 'legacy' thing. That by now, really could just go away.
