Why Can't I Crossfade these Audio Clips?

I have attached a video. This has been something that I've always done so I'm used to it working. The only thing I'm doing differently is having pulled 2 different sequences in 1 sequence and I'm trying to crossfade the audio between the 2. But it's not working 😞

You are still cross-fading the clips, but the right clip has no handles (white triangle on the left top corner), hence being off center.

Applying transitions in Premiere Pro - handles
