Why did the Select Camera command behavior suddenly change? It no longer Cuts during playback.

In 4-up multicam editing, I used to use keyboard shortcuts for Select Camera 1-4 and Cut to Camera 1-4. Then I discovered a wonderful little trick: "Select Camera" selects the angle when playback is paused, but during playback it acts like "Cut to Camera [X]". This wonderful behavior let me have the best of Select Camera and Cut to Camera with a single set of keyboard shortcuts, which is especially helpful on a laptop.

That is, until this week. Now Select Camera selects all the time, meaning I need a separate set of shortcuts for Cut to Camera. What changed?

Update: Weird; it just started working again. The issue was happening on three different systems before this. Perhaps I just needed to restart Premiere.
