Why does my audio mute when I open internet videos while Premiere Pro is open?

I have noticed this recently. When I open and edit videos on Premiere, audio is fine. But when I minimize or just open Chrome and get on YouTube for references, I cannot hear anything unless I close down Premiere. Anyone know how to fix that?

Thanks.

What happens if you change Device Class to MME?

johnnygriego,

under Windows, some applications can take exclusive control of an audio device's driver while in use so that other applications can not play audio through that device at the same time.

There's a Guide here on how to "fix" this (replace any "Apollo" stuff with your Device instead - Realtek for example):

Do you still encounter the same problem after trying out this?

Kind Regards,
Maurice
