Why won't dip to white move with the underlying clip when dragged to another layer in timeline?

Hi,

I am trying to shift an introductory sequence to another layer in the timeline (moving it up) and this has 'dip to white' applied to the end of it. Why doesn't that effect move with it? I tried selecting both clip & effect (shft + click) and also dragging cursor over both to select, but it won't work. I shouldn't have to reapply that dip-to-white all over again.

Please let me know.

this should not be an issue. If a clip has a transition on it like dip to white, the transition will stay when you move it to another video track. If the transition is in between TWO clips, then YES, moving one of those video clips will also remove the transition.
