I had an srt file created from a transcription, imported it for subtitles. Now working within the subtitles, premiere pro continually crashes. It happens when I double click on the subtitle which opens the captions window. Working with the caption window while open is nearly impossible. If the software doesn't crash, it is extremely sluggish. As soon as I close the caption window, all is well.
Are there any unusual characters in the subtitle file? Open up the SRT in a text editor and check for any unusual characters or punctuation marks. Is the SRT in English?
