Yet more confusion about duration markers and in/out points. Suggestions?

Perhaps I'm working outside of recognized practices, but I'm baffled by the difficulty I'm having with getting identified and marked short segments from an edited multicam sequence, into a new timeline for a promo or teaser sequence. It seems I'm not alone either.

I've marked the sequence with duration markers. I have a new empty sequence to receive the inserts. In either the multicam timeline or with it open in the source monitor, I can see the duration markers. I use shift M to move to the beginning of the first marker, and I make an in point. But there doesn't seem to be a way to simply move to the end of the duration marker to place an out point. (shift M jumps to the beginning of the next duration marker, not the end of the first.) If there was, I would simply insert the selection into the empty sequence, and then move on to the next markers. From what I've read here and elsewhere, it seems like this is indeed "missing." For now, I will manually move to the end of the marker and place my out point, but I'll be doing this ongoingly and would like something more efficient.

I'm neither an accomplished nor a beginning editor, so perhaps I'm missing a better, faster, more professional way of doing this. Again, this is for pulling short segments out of an essentially completed edit for promo uses, not for assembling an edit to begin with.

Thanks for your deeper experiences!

Premiere's use of duration markers is something I've wanted changed for years. Such as I've posted requests for the ability to say hold down the M key during playback ... when pressing, it sets the marker beginning, when letting up, the end point. Wouldn't that be slick?

Have you gone through the full Keyboard Shortcut panel, searching for all available Marker shortcuts?

EVERY year at NAB, I suggest this to the devs.

They always go ... hey, that would be slick ... probably not too hard ... hmmm ....

And it's been like that for a decade now.

I suppose I should check the Ideas because I had this on the old Features list and made sure to get an Idea posted on it, but that's a few years since I've even checked up on it.
