Zooming within a clip -how

This is PP CS6.  I've looked at similar questions and don't understand the replies.

I've compiled a video from several sequences.  In one clip I set the scale to 175 of a perched hawk that is otherwise small in the frame, but at the end, it takes off, so to keep the wings in the frame, I need scale at 115.  How do I zoom out from 175 to 115 when it plays.  I don't know where such tools are if they exist, or how to use.

You keyframe postion and scale not when its playing

You set keyframes at the first frame and on the last frame manually.

Play the clip. Where the bird is out of frame, stop the playback, reposition manually and set keyframe for position. And so on.

I meant playing after zoom is set, not setting while playing..

In the timeline go to the start of the clip, adjust the scale to 175 and click on the stopwatch icon to activate keyframes. Go to just before the bird takes off and add a second key frame at 175. Go a couple of seconds further down the timeline and change the scale to 115, this will add a third zoomed in key frame. It might be worth doing a Google search for key frames to learn more.

As is often the case Ann got her reply in first 😞

Thanks for the quick response.  Where is the stopwatch icon?

OK once I understood, it is simple and very useful.  I never knew that those were stopwatch icons with more capabilities, in the effects control.  Very small on my laptop.  Thanks, I see there are many other traits that can be so transitioned.

Robirdman,

Sorry about the learning curve. You might want to buckle down with a few tutorials on Premiere Pro basics and that can help you. It's like taking swimming lessons where it's awkward at first, but once you start learning the ropes, it gets easier.

Traits - you can call them "controls" or even fancier, "parameters."

Transitioned - just say "animated."

Wish you luck!
