Audio Monitoring on iPhone as an Output Option

Given that most people view content on phones these days, it would be essential to allow users to add and use their phones as a monitoring source, particularly for audio output. Right now, we can send it through the monitor speakers, headphones, etc., but not to our phones. It would be ideal if we could somehow send it directly to our phones within the App. I realize there are some buirgeoning workarounds, like through an NDI or something similar with low latency, but an in-app/ system integration would be ideal. I know many professionals would love this feature for monitoring and correct traslation accuracy. The reality is that we need to master for phones, too, so we should be able to add them directly and seamlessly into the workflow, and not have to adjust retrosonically. Please take this suggestion seriously, and vote up on it if you would like to see it implemented as well. 

 

As for now, please also share any current workarounds you have sucessfully employed to acheive real-time audio monitoring on your phones.

Please note, I have found two temporary ways to monitor audio on iPhone for Premier Pro editing, but each has some issues and latency. (1.) The NDI plugin for Premiere Pro, and (2.) The Airfoil and connected airfoil satellite app from Rogue Amoeba. - The NDI suite does not easily connect for me and many users; it says the application, Premiere Pro, is not yet installed, even if it is. They often recommend uninstalling and reinstalling, but it has still not worked for me. The Airfoil system works well to deliver audio to any connected device (from the Airfoil Source App to the Airfoil Satellite App), but with a great delay, and limited functionality. I just wanted to mention those details in case that helped any reader. I realize this is also a computer Operating System function, but it would still be very nice to have it in the Premiere Pro/ Adobe family suite. Thank you!

Perhaps a hardware interface for the phone is the most reliable way to go.

Thank you! Yes, I agree. I will be looking into how to implement that solution. It would be nice if it was a feature, though. But I agree, that is a much more reliable solution.

For future readers, please kindly note I have located several audio interfaces that seem to resolve this issue (in consideration of the hardwired option). The best I've seen is the Lewitt Connect 6, with dual USB-C bi-directional ports. I hope that information is helpful. Again, though, it would be great to see Adobe offer a software, integrated solution as well. Cheers!
