Effects property crop parameters oddness

Hi everyone, I'm just starting to use pp2025 and as usual, its quite the change. I wanted to suggest/request/ask if the crop parameters (now located in the effects properties) be changed to act like the crop effect you would drag onto a clip?

For example, there's no feather parameter in the effects panel and I think that would be a welcomed addition.

Secondly, after you've cropped a clip with the effects panel, the clip does not act the same way it would if you applied the crop effect to the clip and did exactly the same crop. Example being applying the drop shadow effect to a cropped clip does not work - it does nothing - I'm assuming that the drop shadow is seeing the clip as a whole frame when the effects properties crop is used, whereas the application of the crop effect will yield the desired results of seeing the drop shadow on the edge of the desired cropped area.

I hope I made sense there. I'm happy to explain it further if I need to.

This was explained by a dev a while back. The "intrinsic" effects, those always appearing in the ECP, such as position/motion et al, are different in behavior from "normal" effects. They gave a few examples.

So the difference between the intrinsic crop action the the Crop effect are intentional, and for different use purposes. Which is a bit odd at first.

You can leave those new Crop controls at zero percent, and add the Crop effect to the clip manually (like you used to)?  That at least gives you the ability to feather.

(I rarely feather my crops –lol – so I love the fact that the Crop controls are built in within the Motion drop-down in Effect Controls)
