When multiple clips are placed in the source monitor, is there a viewer or extension that will always display the contents?

You cannot select multiple clips in the source monitor. Its one at a time.

You can view clips in the Project window icon view.

As Ann said no.

However two possible options:

1. There is  a command you can assign in keyboard shortcuts that allows you to move to the next and previous videos currently loaded into the panel. Check out the keyboard shortcuts editor for it.

2. You can use a bin and set it to Icon mode to see a preview of the content. You can adjust the size, drag to scrub even set in and out points for this bin. You can insert content from the bin just like you would from the Source panel.
