Imported AE comps cannot be edited on the timeline when multiple AE comps are linked together

I have two dynamic link AE comps linked together so I can drag them on the timeline easier, but I noticed once updating to Premiere 2022 that even if I option-click the comp on the higher track, it swaps to the Source of the bottom comp when I try and edit my text in the Edit Controls panel. As soon as I click on the Source tab in Effects controls, both of the tabs change to the bottom track comp.

This issue was not present in Premiere 2021 and I was able to edit the comps individually without having to unlink them.
