The new import window feels modern and has all the essential features. However for some one who is used to transcode footage or copy and create proxies at the same time this new import window is not usefull. I constantly have to use the media browser and use the ingest setting to either transcode or copy and create proxies. This is particularly a must for users with not so powerfull computers.
Actually, in the upper right corner of the Import page, there are ingest actions that can be chosen. Including copying with cheksum verification ...
Noted Adobe "Hollywood" staffer Karl Soule has taught how that page is actually quite often the best way to add spanned media and such from camera card to the machine, when adding media to a current project.
