I want a feature that would allow me to switch to a tool that can stretch a graphic to the endpoint of other files; ie, audio/voice. That feature would optimize time.
Thanks for the response. I'm terribly sorry I'm just now noticing this.
When creating faceless videos, I have to add graphics to the audio. If the audio is 10 secs, and the video is only 3 secs, I would like to drag the video to the length of the audio. Stretching out the file, in that manner, would auto adjust the tempo of the video on its own, opposed to doing it manually; which takes time because of the guesswork.
It sounds like you're looking to have a graphic play in a Video Track for the same duration of an audio clip an Audio Track.
Do you see this being a new Tool named something like "Extend to Corresponding Audio if Present"?
This can currently be done with an Overwrite Edit of a graphic to the marked length of an audio clip or with an Extend action to a graphic that is already placed over audio that has a longer duration in the Timeline.
For an Overwrite, we would press X in the Timeline while the Playhead is over the audio clip to mark the audio clip's duration and then press Period (".") to overwrite the graphic that's currently in the Source panel or selected in the Project panel or a Bin panel to the currently patched Video Track. The result is the graphic playing in the patched Video Track for the duration of the audio.
For an Extend of a graphic that is already over an audio clip, we would move the Playhead to the end of the audio clip (probably using Down Arrow or Up Arrow), click the right edge of the graphic's Clip Boundary to select it, and then press E. The result is the graphic playing in the Video Track for the duration of the audio.
