I refer from using nests a lot since they make it an extra step to edit the footage within, which is a loss since they help keeping a clean and organised edit timeline.
In after effects we can hide layers we don't want to use, but I think there is an even better thing in-between, let's call them condense layers for now.
These layers would look and behave like a nest normally but when the uncondense button is pressed the ammount of set video/audio lines fold out where the layer is located making it very easy to edit these! And then again with the press of a button these would fold in again and be simple, clean and effective parts of our workflows! Let me know if you got any additions to this idea.
