Premiere Pro needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. Long time issues continue to not be addressed.

I fall further and further out of love with Premiere every time I use it.  I want it to be the best go-to NLE but it's just not up to snuff.  There is still a huge issue with importing sequences and having the same media brought in again and tons of unnessasary bins.  Premiere should easily recognise when a clip is already imported and in use.  Deleting a clip from the project should not delete every instance of it in every sequence.  At least just make it appear offline, or leave a reference of some kind so we can see what was there.  This becomes difficult to track in larger projects.

Larger projects.  Premiere has a massive problem with project files getting too big.  Once they hit 50+MBs they become almost unusable, saving and opening takes many minutes.  And no, I'm not going to delete sequences.  I'm about to break up a project for another editor because the project file is over 100MB and hardly responive.  What can you do about this?  About duplicate clips?  About making this software run better?  I don't want new features.  Ever.  I want it to function as well as Avid does.  Premiere not being backwards compatible with previous versions is a nightmare too.  We don't have a version long enough and then theres an update and its worse and people are hesitent to upgrade for good reasons.

Please fix the duplicate media issue, the project file size issues, and backwards compatibilty.  This is getting ridiculs.  I wound never reccomend someone use Premiere to edit something they're taking seriously.  Too many problems that continue to be ignored.  Please rebuild Premiere and make it work better.  It has plenty of features to accomplish anything we need already.  I want to see a solid perfect version of Premiere before I see any new features.  Good luck.  I'm migrating to Resolve and sticking with Avid.  Much better NLEs.  Premiere you are seriously lagging behind.  Be better.

Doesn't sound like you've kept up with Premiere's newer modes over the last three years ... doing larger projects or long-form/episodic work should be done in Production, never in the old stand-alone projects.

Takes care of most of the linking issues, project bloat slowing things, all sorts of things that Standalone project work runs into with bigger projects.

I'll include some useful links ...

@Dickdastardly you're not alone, but I woudn't get my hopes up.

I will say that if you document (screen capture) and submit project files of things that are broken and tag mods/engineers in your threads you can at least get a response, and sometimes even a bugfix! It's a chore that the users seem to be responsible for bug testing this software, but its one of the few ways to seemingly move the needle around here.

They should honestly have a bug bounty system where each confirmed bug you submit you get 5$ knocked off  your subscription a month for that month. Would increase the goodwill of users a lot I think.

General posts like this, even if they are "not wrong" are frequently ignored becasue engineers need small actionable issues to fix and are seemingly not able to respond to big picture requests.
