Dear Adobe Premiere Pro Team,

I am writing to bring attention to a significant feature gap in Adobe Premiere Pro. Unlike competitors such as DaVinci Resolve and Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro currently lacks a fundamental feature that allows users to cut clips at the playhead to the start or end of the clip with a shortcut key, without affecting other layers.

Issue Summary:

  • Missing Feature: The ability to trim or cut a clip from the playhead to the start or end without impacting adjacent layers is essential for efficient editing. This feature is available in both DaVinci Resolve and After Effects, which makes its absence in Premiere Pro particularly noticeable.
  • Impact: The current process requires manual adjustments and frequent changes in track targeting, leading to inefficiencies and disruptions in the editing workflow.

Request: I strongly urge the Adobe Premiere Pro team to consider implementing this feature to match the capabilities of competitors and enhance the editing experience. The ability to quickly cut a clip from the playhead to the start or end using a shortcut key—without affecting other layers—would greatly streamline the workflow and improve overall productivity.

Thank you for considering this enhancement. I believe it will be highly beneficial to many users and align Premiere Pro with the industry standards.

Best regards,
CineSabbir
