Feature Request: Restore "Capture" to native Apple Silicon code version of Premiere 2023 .

Videotape capture in Premiere is a very important function for our work.

I would like to see Capture for video tape in the Apple Silicon version of Premiere 2023 so that we don't have to use Rosetta.

Continuing capture support through third party video capture devices like Ultrastudio 4K Mini is also critical.

Version: Adobe Premiere 2023 23.5

Platform: OSX Ventura 13.4, M2 Macmini Pro 32 GB Ram,  Ultrastudio 4K Mini,

Hi Adam,

We are not planning on restoring the tape capture option in Premiere Pro for Apple silicon Macs. In fact, we are actually planning on removing tape-based workflows entirely at the end of 2023. More information about this change is here:

Anything captured with Blackmagic Media Express software (comes free with every UltraStudio model) should import into a Premiere Pro project.

Hi Warren. Media Express does not write 16x9 anamorphic aspect ratio metadata into its captured standard definition files like Premiere can. All standard definition clips are flagged as 4x3.

Correct aspect ration metadata is important to us for bulk downstream media transcoding where it is tedious to manually set aspect ratio for every clip depending on whether it is 4x3 or 16x9 anamorphic. I hope Adobe change there mind about removing capture.

While it's helpful to have aspect ratio determined automatically, it's pretty easy to manually scale 4:3 wide 125% along the horizontal such that it appears proportionally correct in just about any application.

Since tape capture is going away in Premiere Pro, seems setting a PAR value is a feature request for Blackmagic Design.
