It would be useful to have an audio patching option directly in the Source panel (waveform view) as per attached screenshot. The user could enable/disable the blue buttons on the left hand side of the Source panel which are mirrored in the Timeline panel and vice versa (mockup attached). I'm fully aware of the modify clip dialogue box but I think patching with the Source panel could offer a better user experience.
