Dear Adobe Premiere Pro Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to suggest an enhancement to the transcription feature in Adobe Premiere Pro, which I believe could significantly improve the workflow for users who work with video transcriptions.
Currently, after generating a transcription, it is segmented into separate blocks of text corresponding to different timestamps. While this segmentation helps with syncing text to the audio, it limits the flexibility for users who wish to edit the transcription in a continuous format (for example, removing line breaks or combining sections). As of now, there seems to be no way to paste an edited, continuous transcription back into Premiere Pro while maintaining its link to the original audio.
My suggestion is to enable users to paste an edited transcription back into Premiere Pro and have it automatically re-sync to the audio. This feature would:
- Allow users to remove unnecessary breaks or combine sections of text for a cleaner and more efficient editing process.
- Maintain the automatic syncing of the transcription with the corresponding audio, streamlining the review and adjustment of captions or subtitles.
- Significantly reduce the time spent on manually reformatting or adjusting transcriptions when working with long-form content.
This improvement would greatly benefit editors who rely on transcriptions for quick edits, particularly in documentary, interview, and educational content where precise syncing of audio and text is essential.
I believe this feature could enhance the user experience and save considerable time during post-production. I hope this suggestion can be considered for a future update to Premiere Pro.
Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to seeing how Premiere Pro continues to evolve.
Best regards,
Gustavo Orioli.
