I work in Canadian politics, and since we are a billingual country, billingual videos are important.
Part1- Multi language support in transcription
Often, the person speaking in my videos will switch back and forth between English and French. I love the auto transcribe feature, but right now I can only select one language for the transcription. If I set it to English, the French parts will come out in "that's what the words sound like in english" giberish. It would be awesome to be able to tell Premiere that both English and French is being spoken, and get a transcript that swaps between the two.
Part 2- Translation
When I caption a video that is billingual, I need to have both English and French subtitles on the screen. Right now, I need to have the translation done manually, and then manually add it. It would be really cool if Premiere could translate the transcription in app. The software would have to be able to recognize when English or French is being spoken, translate it, and then break the captions out into french and english captions that I put in different places on the screen.
Part 3-
Importing raw text files (not srt.) and timing them to the track. Translation is a difficult task, and while ai translation is getting pretty good, for some videos I'll always need to have it translated by a professional. The translator person then sends me raw text files, and it's a pain to add these into the video, because they don't have .srt style timing. It would be amazing if Premiere could recognize the connection between what's being spoken and a rough ai translation, and use that to properly time out the professionally done translation that I'd import, into captions.
