Trimming Clips Without Affecting Music (Similar to Final Cut Pro)

New Here ,

Hi Adobe Team,

I’d like to suggest adding a trimming workflow similar to Final Cut Pro, where editors can trim video clips on the timeline without affecting or trimming the music tracks. This makes editing much smoother, especially when working with synced background music.

Or if Adobe Premiere already has a feature like this that I’m just missing, I’d really appreciate any guidance on how to use it.

Having an option for non-destructive trimming, where the music stays untouched while adjusting video clips would be a huge help for creators and editors.

Thank you for considering this!

Does locking the music track do what you want?   It is the lock symbol on the left in the timeline.   If I lock the track I can do anything I want to the video track above without affecting the audio.

Either locking or unlinking ... and I think both have keyboard shortcuts available to assign in the keyboard shortcuts panel.
