2080 Ti and GPU acceleration in encoding videos

Hello all,

I have a problem for encoding videos with the GPU acceleration.

My CPU is Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900K, with the RTX 2080 Ti.
The OS is Windows 10 Family 20H2.

When I encode videos in Mp4 format (H.264) the hardware acceleration is always disabled. Only the CPU is used. I do not add some effects, just try to encode an mp4 source file with a 3 seconds fixed image at the beginning.

I tried with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019, 2020, and the last 2021 trial version.

The display renderer option in the project properties is grayed and set on "Mercury Playback engine software only"

The encoding option is not available and set with software encoding only.

The tool GPUSniffer in Adobe folder displays the following trace :

I tried the Vokouder plug in but it is not working better, there is no option in the config to specify NVIDIA hardware (it should be, we can see it on printscreens in the Vokouder site)

The drivers of the 2080 Ti are up to date. I tried with the current NVIDIA Studio driver, I even installed the CUDA environment (cuda_11.2.0_460.89_win10.exe), but no success in every case.

I searched lots of websites, but I did not find a way to have a use of the GPU instead of CPU when encoding videos. The 2080 Ti works perfectly with games.
Is this a harware problem ? Drivers ? Parameters ? Or the applications ? Or is the 2080 Ti only built for gaming ?

I don't know and it's very frustrating...

If someone can help me, it would be very nice !

Hi Franck,

Sorry to hear about this. Have you tried doing a clean installation of the latest NVIDIA Studio Driver (v462.59) & checked if it's helping? Also, if possible please share a download link for the System Compatibility Report (Help>System Compatibility Report>Export Report).

Hi Sumeet,

I tried with a proper installation of the latest NSD Driver (by checking the "new install" option.)

Here is the System compatibility Report. It is in French, but there is no conflict, and the GPU sniffer displays the same informations as in my first message :
