Adobe Premiere Pro freezes when I import a large file.

So i tried to import a 5 GB file on Premiere and the app just froze,leaving me with nothing to do other than closing the app

Maybe try importing it through the Media Browser tab. What is the file type/system specs?

it's an mp4 

My specs are :Nvidia GTX 1050

                      Intelcore i5 8th gen

                      1TB HDD

                      8 GB RAM
