Adobe Voco in English will not come out. The reasons, as I understand, have to do with correctly mapping audio transcripts with their text. It is one thing to put together some pieces to impress people, and a totally different thing to produce an application that can do the work. Correctly identifying parts of speech (as phonemes) for use in Synthesis is a very very difficult task for English Language (and for European languages in general)...

But, the good news is that we may be close to seeing an Adobe-Voco-like application in some other language soon...

I have actually seen such an application. About 20-25 hours of speech was identified and split into phonemes. The Phonemes were classified prosodically (by pitch, length, amplitude...etc), and the synthesized audio that was produced was much more than just natural speech...

Stay tuned...
