Audio from other projects contaminating original audio with same source names

I have an issue where audio with the same name from two different projects saved in different locations are replacing the original audio. I just opened a project from 2 months ago and the audio is being replaced by a project I started last week. How can I get premiere to stop doing this. My system is up to date.

This is avoided by using unique names.
