Audio wave form not showing up

The first clip the waveform showed up in the editor but then all the other clips it wont show up. Im doing a tutorial trying to following along and the cuts are being done following the audio waveform. I had too extract the audio for the second clip and add it to the editor but then i have to cut twice.

First one is an attchment, second time is embedded.

Most common user error is not source patching the track.
Solved by first opening clip in Source Monitor, set in and out point. Then drag/insert into timeline.

This is going to sound silly but im so new to this, what is the source monitor? and is the in and out point something I will see immediatley ?

If you have no idea what I am talking about then it is best when opening Premiere you hit the LEARN tab and watch all those beginners videos.

Beware Premiere has a steep learning curve.
