Automatically wrap rectangle around text

Hi Adobe Forum Community! Someone recently asked a question on my channel to see if it is possible for a rectangle in the Titler tool to auto-adjust to the text size and length when it is updated? I could not find a way to do this myself, so I thought I would post it here to see if anyone else has a workaround or a tip to help him out. Here was the original question:

"How do I create a solid background for any text that I type? I know that I can create a colored box around the text, but that seems SO tedious for every single title in my video. I feel like there HAS to be a more efficient way. I've been searching the Internet for hours trying to find it, and I am so frustrated with not being up to find the answer."

Turn on the Background in the titler.

Hi Jim - That fills the entire background, but he only wants a rectangle behind the text itself so the video can still be seen. I think what he was asking was if a solid rectangle behind the text can be auto-adjusted to fit the text each time it was edited to save time. Kind of like adding a stroke behind the text, but instead a rectangle.

Don't use the TitleTool, use Open Captions:
