I have  PSD text file that does not have a background(blank.)  When I import it into Premiere Pro the PSD file has a black background.  Wherer's the problem; Photoshop or Premiere Pro?

Could you show some screen shots so we can see how you have your photoshop document setup and also how it appears in Premiere Pro as well as you timeline?

If you place a color matte on a video track below the PSD, does it show the color matte?

If so, transparency is working.

If it doesn't show the color matte, then try resaving the PSD in Photoshop under a different name or save it as a TIFF and then import into Premiere Pro.
