Hi i know i have old version but when i import anything the resolution is low but very low its pixeld i put and when i rendering itsg going even worst my settings is:

format:h.264

preset:HD 1080i 29.97 

1920x1080

frame rate:29.97

filed order:upper first 

aspect:square pixlas(1.0)

NTSC 4.1

biterate:vbr 1 pass

target bitrate:32

max brate:40

Your sequence is standard definition and your footage is HD. In the project panel right click on the video file and select 'New sequence from clip' this will create a sequence with the correct settings.
