Bad timeline & morph cut performance after updating to Premiere Pro 15.1

Been having all sorts of issues with 15.1...

AMD Ryzen 5950x 128Gb RAM RTX 3090

All latest drivers (and have tried both latest Game ready and Studio graphics drivers)

Timeline responsiveness is terrible even when only editing zoom recordings

Morph cut brings timeline and playback entirely to its knees whilst maxing out decode on graphics card.

Generally unsuable even on my powerful ssytem. Reverting to 15.

So, reverting to 15 is slightly better but not rock solid like it was before the 15.1 update. This is still pretty unusable.
