Thanks, Kevin

I've seen a few issues relating to the update. Is there a best practice thread I can check-out to prepare before I run the update to give myself the best chance?

glaustin,

Thanks for the question. Before major updates the most obvious things to me are:

  • clean up and finish older projects
  • simplify projects you are forced to migrate across major versions
    • break complex projects into several projects connected via a Production
  • sync settings to the Cloud
  • make sure old version will not be erased on installing the newer version
  • check to see if plug-ins need updating
  • back up preferences and any important settings and documents
  • make sure current project files

glaustin,

  • make sure current project files are backed up
  • take note of any other items, extensions, add ons, that may need updating or reinstallation
  • delete media cache with all project closed
  • trash preferences (optional)

Try avoiding updating any projects, especially complex ones with lots of assets. Finish them up in the previous versions. Tread lightly into the new version with test projects and simple projects.

That's all I think of for now. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Kevin

Many thanks, Kevin. I follow most of those recommendations, so hopefully I won't experience problems with 15.1🤞🏻
