Can you edit a timeline from the Source Box?

Hi Everyone. I have a question about editing the timeline. I don't do video editing but voice over editing and I am trying to edit my timeline (not the video). The timelines are really small but I find it is convenient when I transfer a part of te timeline to the sorce box(top left box). However while I can play  the piece there I cannot edit it. Is it possibe to edit a timeline within the source (top left) box ? if so how do you do it? I'm pretty new so if what I say makes no sense please let me know. I attached a screenshot to give you an idea what I am trying to do.

Looks to me you have a very small screen to work from.

Make your timeline way bigger by pulling it up. Hover over the edge of the panel.

Expand the tracks or

Hover over the timeline and hit the ` key (grave) this will give you full screen.
