Cannot View My Imported Media

Hi,

 

I am sure it's a simple fix but here's my problem.

 

1. I drag files into my bottom left panel (I think it's called the project panel). Haven't used this since like 2008

2. I drag a clip from that panel to my timeline panel.

3. Nothing happens, I can't play it, hear it, or anything. 

 

I need a mentor, friend, or a decent resource. I've tried a million YouTube videos, reading the user manual, chatting with adobe support. 

 

Willing to pay someone to re introduce this to me, in interested email [personal info deleted by mod]

reset the preferences (hold ALT while premiere pro is launching on the splash screen) if this does not work, give us more details like system specs, premiere pro version etc...

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

If that doesn't work,try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean install of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver).

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Many users are having issues with VFR. If the file is variable frame rate, use Hand brake to convert to constant frame rate:
