Canon Optura Xi

iMovie will see my camcorder (Canon Optura Xi) so I can load the video.  Premiere Pro will not see my camera.  How do I fix this?

Use Windows File Explorer and a USB cable to copy the files from your camera to a folder on your hard drive... then point PPro to that folder

Its a tape camera!!! Mac does not use Explorer.

Which Mac OS and Premiere build are you using?

macOS Big Sur Version 11.2.1

Premiere Pro 14.3.0 (Build 38)

Premiere does not support dv/hdv capture over firewire anymore on a mac nor can you edit the footage.

I am not sure you can cpture over imove and play the files on Big Sur.
