Cant import GH5 footage without Premiere crashing

Hello,

I recently purchased a Panasonic GH5. I for some reason can't import my 4k footage into adobe premiere. Whenever I try, the program freezes and crashes while trying to import. I can import 1080p footage just fine. I've tried multiple different 4k files. I also cant import the 4k files into media encoder, but can play them just fine in VLC Media player and even the default windows media player. This is beyond frustrating, I have tried researching why this happens and haven't found anything helpful.

Thanks in advance.
