I think this is just a resolution thing. If you fullscreen your Program Monitor (put your mouse over it and press the ~ key) do you see the detail you're talking about? If you export a small portion of the video is it there? There are only so many pixels alotted to that area of your screen. If you want to see more detail in a small area you need a higher resolution monitor.

In the lower image the clip is selected ... note the highlight around the thumbnail. So there is a selected clip to show in the ECP.

 

In the upper clip, no clip on the sequence is selected. Ergo ... nothing selected to show in the ECP.

The detail i mentioned was the little line, which it can be only viewed by zooming in of the clipproblem..png
