Constant crashing, freezing, and pain

Recently I've been having this issue where Premiere would freeze and crash at random times very frequently. This used to never happen before, so I googled the issue, where people suggesting resetting my preferences, removing markers, etc. None of these have worked except for maybe reverting to an older version, which only made it crash slightly less often.

Also when it crashes, restarting Premiere sometimes doesn't work. If it crashes around 2 or 3 times, windows explorer stops working altogether too, meaning I can't open any other software from my taskbar, and I have to restart my whole laptop by restarting windows explorer from the task manager so I can access the windows button, only after which I can restart Premiere pro again then go through the same cycle multiple times.

And if I actually manage to finish my project and try to export it,  Premiere would get stuck at a random percentage and freeze, refusing to go any further. The only times I actually managed to export my projects was through sheer luck by restarting premiere over and over again in the process mentioned above.

No one else seems to have the same issue and I can't figure out what's causing it. I've gone back and forth between previous and current versions of Premiere, but nothing has fixed it. My workflow has not changed much either, and if anything it has gotten more minimal, so I don't think anything in that area would have caused these crashes.

Any help would be appreciated

and please tell us your source properties and sequence settings?

Any chance you're working with screen recordings or material shot with a smartphone?  If so, the issue is probably caused by sources with variable frame rate.

use mediainfo to determine whether your source is variable or constant frame rate

https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

if it's variable use handbrake to convert to constant frame rate

and here's a tutorial on how to use handbrake
