I've been using Premiere Pro for some years, but my old Canon camcorders are obsolete ...and they never played nicely with Premiere. I'm looking another consumer grade camcorder which will be compatible with Premiere/Mac. I've read good reviews of the Vixia R800. Any thoughts?

I have a Canon VIXIA HF R 400 and HF R 500 and I consider them to be trash. They worked decent but I would never go back. I now us a Sony A7 III. It was money well spent. Having said that some of the new Camcorders and Cameras use H.264/265 that Nvenc and Quick Sync cannot playback.
