Creating adjustment layer with fine edge transistion

I am having an issue with the adjustment layer not taking effect. I create one layer and adjust fine edge to blend two clips and it works. I go to do it to do it again, exact same way for a  transistion it does'nt work. I am a completely lost noob.

Hello:

You'll need to apply the transition to the clips in the timeline and not the adjustment layer.
