CS6 video track 1 problem

CS6 TRACKS 1 & 2.jpgHave used Premiere CS6 for several years but never come across this problem. Every clip put on Video Track 1 (with the head frame only showing) the image is over large with the bottom third missing. Move the clip to Video Track 2 and all is normal and correct.

A screenshot is attached to better explain. Whatever setting for the track display is used the problem is the same.

Despite earnest my efforts I can’t correct this. Can anyone advise and help please?

So sorry. I'm a bit new to this sort of thing. Do you want me to post my question again following your instructions?

Thanks.
