Cut/Trim/Move without Altering Unlinked Audio

Trying to assemble my clips using keyboard shortcuts (Q, W, X, Z, holding CMD when moving shots around for ripple edit...etc.).

However, the music I've added in an unlinked track below those clips is also affected when I use keyboard shortcuts to the above video tracks. Disabling that audio track holding the music does nothing. It still cuts, deletes, and jacks up my music clip. Very annoying. I like to edit my clips with the intended music in tact.

Is there a way around this?

Hey Matt,

Sorry for the frustration. I usually lock the audio track while using shortcuts to manipulate video. Have you tried that?

Thanks,

Kevin

I knew there'd be an easy answer. Been using Premiere for years and still discovering very basic stuff.

Thank you for the very quick response!
